HUGE APPRECIATION ❣️

We got all the bags out today! We handed out 8 bags, 5 men's, 2 woman's on the street. And we gave 5 bags to the Salvation Army and they were closed but giving out of food so we left the 5 bags with them to give out with the food until  1 pm. And the rest went to the Kirby House. They asked to take a picture of us, and we did it for them, not for us. And if they say anything about acknowledgement on FB, I will ask them to take it down, because that isn't why we donated.

We asked what they needed most, and they gave us a bit of a list that I took a mental note for, and based on those outside, we were short for men's stuff, so next year, we're going to make more men's as well.

The Kirby House can take up to 32 beds, so they also accept bedding and stuff too. Infant stuff is needed like bigger diapers and soaps and shampoos and woman's stuff is always needed.

Next year, our goal is to get 100 baggies out and more infant stuff and bedding for The Kirby House.

Again, a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us achieve this goal this year! We are super thankful and our hearts are full.

Humility post:

Today, there was a woman who literally made me break down outside. I held it together and we gave her a bag and told her to stay warm, but as we were walking back outside I just fell to pieces.

This is why we all need to do this. Not because a church says so, not because you need volunteer hours or even a recognition through "school spirit"...

This is super important whether they are thankful or in the right mind, or whatever the case may be.

There were two people standing outside after grabbing food from the Salvation Army, and Pat just asked the woman if she needed gloves and she said "gloves would be great actually!" So we gave her and her friend a baggie.

It shouldn't be a spectacle, just go up and ask if they need something. Not just around the holidays, ANYTIME!

We are going to be doing this every year, maybe even twice a year. I will post at very least a month in advance, and anyone who would like to donate items or monetary donations, we will do the same as this year. The only exception is the items may differ due to what time of year (i.e. sunscreen instead of hats and mitts...etc.)

But our goal is the same every year going forward YAH willing. 🙏🏼

HELPING HANDS

I request not to have any gifts for the holidays this year as I am not wanting to participate.

HOWEVER, for a few years now, I've been trying to put something together to take gifts out of OUR HOME, and start giving care packages to people in need.

This year, I'm. sticking to this plan because if it's something on my heart then, I have to go through with it.

I'm still trying to figure out things that will be going into these care packages, and I'm trying to keep the cost of them low, as it will be coming out of our pockets.

I want to include: hats, mitts, a brush, tooth brush and toothpaste for sure.

I will also be including child-sized bags.

These will be completely FREE of charge, and we will give them out personally to anyone we see in need.

If you would like to donate towards this cause, it would be greatly appreciated - either items that you may have that you don't need anymore and are going to donate, or stuff that won't fit children or yourselves anymore.

Also, if you would like to donate monetarily to this as well, every cent will be used for items to go into these bags. And we will show you what we bought with the donations.

We will also be accepting FOOD donations, but they have to be things that are easily accessible as well and nut-free.

We will be working on these right through to the end of the year.

Thank you for your support!

Please share around for anyone else that may be interested in helping as well!
